Detroit was everything and nothing like she had expected.
Having recently arrived under the pretext of overseeing several new business ventures for the one of the Clan's major financial holdings, Heimdall Pharmaceuticals, she had been intrigued by the recent turn of events that were rumored to have brought the Pureblooded vampire community to its knees .
It was ironic that the solution to a problem that had plagued the world for centuries would come from within the ranks rather than from the outside.
An irony not lost on Freyja, as the car pulled up outside of the Marcus van Sciver Gallery.

Resplendant in a backless gown of teal-green silk and black ermine shrug, she strode through the door of the gallery. It was full ,almost to the point of making her self-conscious, though one would never have guessed it to have looked at her.
Calm, poised and elegant, she twirled a long stemmed champagne glass idly between naked fingertips, but didn't drink.
Instead she made her way across the room, smiling and making small talk, until she arrived at her destination. A painting, one of many new additions currently on exhibition: "The Raising of Lazarus" by Caravaggio.
How ironic...

Cassie had visited the lovely gallery less in the last weeks - mostly due to the mystery client and load she had just received. And had just finished it the night before when she had decided it had been time for a cleansing of her mind - and a trip out of the cramped work room.
She had been very surprised when she first saw the people outside of the gallery and even more so when she had gotten inside, at this point also feeling terribly under-dressed as she had been let into the gala wearing nothing but a slightly fancy pair of dress slacks and the last clean top, one of pure green silk - one of the only memories of the past life. Now she was just seamlessly drifting about .... mostly avoiding people and just adoring the paintings and the restorative work done to them. Cassie had been so caught up in her own little world she didn't notice the auburn haired beauty until she accidently backed into her.

A sudden, unexpected jolt brought Freyja out of her contemplation. Caught off guard, the champagne glass slipped from her fingers.
Reflex kicked in, snatching the champagne glass mid-fall, preventing it from meeting a brutal demise, dashed against the gallery floor.
Pausing momentarily to regain her composure, she turned around, lifting her eyes and meeting those of a decidedly ...dazed looking young woman.
"E-Excuse me?" Her tone caught between shock and ...something else.

Cassie quikcly took a step back as to give the other woman a littel bit of space and then began apologizing "I am so so sorry - I didn't realize that anybody was behind me." She kept apologizing and was starting to ramble on how she had been clumsy and should have kept her eyes open and not walk into to people.

OOC: Sorry its taken me a while to reply, been away since the 18th.
Freyja smiled, lightly touching the arm of the young woman who stilled mid-ramble. "It's quite alright, really," -she gestured to her gown, which was decidedly absent of any stain- "no harm done."
She turned, giving the painting a fleeting final glance before returning her attention to her new aquaintaince. "I was just admiring the artwork, soaking in the atmosphere. I really shouldn't have... gotten in the way."

"Oh well you most certianly did not get in the way" Cassie started saying and felt herself beginning to ramble once again and firmly shut her mouth to put out her hand and say "Cassie Hunter"
OOC: Do not worry - and I hope you had a good time ...away

OOC: Thanks, I did. I hope things went well for you over the holidays, and that your operation was a success?
"Freyja Langleigh," she returned with an altogether more pleasant, hopefully amicable, smile. Given recent events, she found it quite -- well, nice to be able to simply talk. No politics, no resultant bloodshed. Just talk.
"A pleasure to meet you."

"Likewise" Cassie commented as she withdrew her hand. "and this is truly a magnificent piece of art. The restoration alone... " She commented glancing at the painting while talking.
OOC: I'm all patched up and eating and swearing and spitting again. and should we take this to the new board soon??

OOC: Great! Yeah, sure do you have a particular one in mind?
Freyja listened attentively, feeling rather like a schoolgirl again. It was... pleasant.

Cassie began feeling slightly embarassed about having started on a long speech about what she was certain was the first restoration of the painting. and turned back to Freya to notice her looking like she had spaced out. Immediately begun apologizing"I'm so sorry for going off like that. It must have been a bad habit I have gotten over the years." OOC: thinking the new one Krysta made z8.invisionfree.com/bladetheseries/
