Abigail wanted to scream with frustration. Nothing she was doing seemed to work. Either this guy really was just human or he was a really experienced supernatural. She didn't want to give up because there was something about Tristan that seemed off. It was close to the feeling she got when around vampires. Maybe their undeadliness or whatever gave off a certain vibe.
She decided she'd find out what exactly he was, but not by talking to him. "Yeah, I should go too. I think I know where I am now. The Succubus club should be a couple of blocks away from here." She looked up at him and smiled. "Thanks for walking with me, Tristan. It was really nice of you." She started to walk away from him. "Maybe I'll see you around sometime." With that, she winked and walked away.
Of course Abigail wasn't giving up. It wasn't in her personality to do that. She was going to follow him, from a distance of course. Abigail could feel Tristan's eyes on her as she walked away. I probably mystified the hell out of him., she thought. She continued walking down the sidewalk with the street on her right. In a few seconds the sidewalk turned to the left around the corner of a building. She could either cross the street in front of her, or follow the sidewalk around the building to the left. She followed the sidewalk. As she rounded the building she picked up the pace a bit. The buildiing on her left had a couple of entrances leading inside. She quietly tried the first one: locked. She tried the second: unlocked. Smiling, she headed inside and flicked on her flashlight.
Abigail was inside of a very rundown building. Ignoring the semi-creepy shadows, she found the stairs and climbed them to the top floor. After popping the lock on the door to the roof, she stepped outside. She quietly breathed in the air, which seemed much more pleasant than the air inside the building.
Abigail briskly walked half-crouched to the side of the building where Tristan and her had been talking. She leaned over the edge, taking a quick look to see if Tristan was still there. Yup. He must be trying to figure out where he is. I did kind of leave him in the middle of nowhere. She was glad that her shadow was behind her and not in front of her. Her spying would have been over because her shadow would have been cast directly in front of Tristan. Smiling, she knelt down behind the waist-high ledge and waited for him to start walking. She was going to find out just what Tristan was.
