PB: Neil Jackson
Character Name: Marcus Van Sciver
Race: Vampire
Physical Description: Pale complextion, Ice blue eyes and blonde hair.
Age: 250, Marcus was turned in 1756
Hobbies: Renovating old landmarks.
Goals: To become the most powerful vampire in the city and 'free' himself from what had happend to him.
Personality: [/u]Marcus is very controlling. He doesn't lift a finger at all, he has plenty of minions to do that stuff for him. He is extremely calm. Marcus has an acceptance, though a loathing for the pure bloods. Marcus has patience and time on his side. He is willing to wait and bide his time until he can eventually rise up to where he believes is his rightful place. He is kind of an anomaly in that factor.
History: Marcus didn't enjoy being turned into a vampire. I don't think most people who are turned enjoy the process. He didn't ask for it or want it. His wife and his family were killed. He was thrown into this world that he didn't want to be in. So he quickly decided if you can't beat them join them.
For Marcus, suddenly he is restricted to where he can go because of sunlight, garlic and silver. He is also hampered by the continual rules and the big brother way of the pure bloods govern anything. You can't kill unless it is sanctioned by someone above you. You can't turn someone unless it is sanctioned by someone above you. So he has all of a sudden gone from a free life where he was exploring the Americas in the eighteenth century with his family and the prospects of a golden future and it is snapped away from him and now he has the shackles of the vampire life. He is desperate to get free from that. The only way he can get free from that is to play the game up until he gains enough power to where he gains antinomy for being too powerful. Until he no longer has to be governed by someone else, because the person who would make the rules is him.
Marcus is eager to gain the level of autonomy he thinks he deserves, so he is patient. He is also very intelligent because the way he is going about it is conniving. He's got so many things going for him. He has empire in the vampiric world he has climbed the ladder far quicker than anyone else. He has reached the point of almost being a pure blood, to the point of where is makes the pure bloods nervous of him. In Mafioso terms, he has made himself into a main guy without being born Sicilian. He has also built up a group of people around him, and an aura, a mystique around him that increases his power. What we end up learning later is that everything he has plotted and schemed is part of a greater design. He is a great architect for what he wants.
This also extends into his physical life. He is well trained as a fighter and athlete. So when it comes to the physical side of stuff he is more than capable of taking on anyone who comes his way. Marcus has had 250 years to hone his skills in and takes joy in that stuff because he rarely gets time to exercise and flex those muscles. We are moving nowto where Marcus is starting to be challenged physically. The house of cards he has built up is starting to collapse. He is becoming an animal which is being pushed in a corner. People are going to realize that you don't push Marcus into a corner. It is getting interesting now.
